Business Consultant

Start out as a part-time independent contractor at a competitive hourly rate and convert to full-time with salary plus bonus/benefits within 4-6 months. You will be expected to work on a wide variety of business consulting engagements involving early stage and established clients.

MUST have proven experience (3 years, minimum) providing business consulting services to small and mid-size firms, with a strong background in either business strategy and analysis, business operations, or market research and planning. We are particularly interested in people with education and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Real Estate / Construction / Property Management
  • Science/Engineering/Technology (Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, etc.)
Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in Business, Marketing, Economics, Accounting or Finance is required, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills. MBA is highly desirable but not necessary.
Your duties may include
  • Financial modeling (mainly constructing pro-forma financial projections)
  • Market Research (industry trends, market size, competition, risks, etc.)
  • Writing (drafts of business plans, strategic plans, marketing plans, and other documents)
  • Reviewing and editing business plans and other documents
  • Interviewing clients, industry experts, prospective customers, partners, vendors and competitors
  • Quantitative Analysis (determine customer acquisition cost, analyze financial statements, etc.)
  • Due Diligence (Identifying, evaluating and ranking business risks, etc.)
  • Strategic Planning (generally involving all of the above)

Business Developer/Sales Associate

Start out as a part-time independent contractor. You'll receive a monthly base plus commission. You will be expected to identify, contact, and close a wide variety of business consulting engagements involving early stage and established clients. Engagements range from a low of several thousand dollars to a high of several hundred thousand dollars.

MUST have proven experience (1 year, minimum) in business development role selling business consulting services to small and mid-size firms. You should have a strong grasp of business strategy, operations, and market research so you can communicate effectively with both clients and consultants.

Bachelors degree and/or MBA in Business, Marketing, Economics, Accounting or Finance is highly desirable, but not necessary.
