Simplified Alerts is a one-to-many text messaging system that allows small and large organizations to send out customized text alerts to subscribers. Their web-based system is reliable, easy to use, and highly scalable. Alerts can be used for small and large commercial organizations (new product announcements, coupons, events, etc.), as well as non-profits, sports teams, and other groups (weather cancellations, game delays, etc.). Simplified Alerts asked Ground Floor Partners to help them explore their options in terms of target markets, product and service offerings, and growth strategy.
We worked closely with the Simplified Alerts team in a series of intense collaborative workshops over a period of several months. We also conducted independent research and analysis of their markets and competitors to better understand their position within the overall marketplace. Our independent research showed that although the marketplace was extremely crowded, the market opportunity was also larger than anticipated. We found that no single competitor had captured more than a small fraction of the total available market, and we identified several significant opportunities that other competitors were not pursuing. As a result of our market research and planning efforts, Simplified Alerts has changed their growth strategy to focus on several niche markets that other competitors have ignored.
